Curriculum vitae
Vincenzo Forlini is currently a PhD student in the PhD Program in Molecular Sciences at the University of Padova, under the supervision of Prof. Silvia Gross. His research is focused on the extraction and valorization processes of metals in industrial wastewater treatment sludge with a high metal content by using Deep Eutectic Solvents and continuous flow hydrothermal approaches, in collaboration with Tintess SpA.Born in Ascoli Piceno in 1997, Vincenzo Forlini attended the Liceo Classico "G. Leopardi" in S. Benedetto del Tronto before pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry at the University of Ferrara (2021; grade: 96/110), inspired by his growing fascination with science communication channels online. During this time he spent one year abroad at the University of Zaragoza, Spain.
Driven by a desire to contribute to sustainability practices, he pursued a Master's Degree in Sustainable Chemistry and Technologies for Circular Economy at the University of Padova (2024; mark: 110/110). His Master's thesis, supervised by Prof. Marco Zecca and Dr. Christoph Schultheis, focused on analyzing and optimizing the recovery process of Rhodium, a Critical Raw Material. The project, conducted over 10 months at the recycling department of Heraeus Precious Metals in Hanau, Germany, also involved additional side projects for the company's Continuous Improvement team.
