Curriculum vitae
Andrea Guerrer is currently a PhD student of the Molecular Sciences course in the working group of Prof. Silvia Gross. His research project concerns the recovery of metals, such as Li, Mn, Co and Ni from electronic waste materials, mainly from powder obtained from the dismantling of LCO and NCM batteries. The main objective of the thesis is to exploit sustainable solvents, namely Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES), to recover these metals. Born in Legnago (Italy) in 2000, Andrea studied Chemistry at the University of Padova, where he obtained his Bachelor's degree (2022; mark: 110/110 cum laude) and his Master’s degree (2024; mark: 110/110 cum laude). His Master thesis project was conducted following the Double Degree program with the JLU University of Giessen, under the supervision of Prof. Silvia Gross and Prof. Dr. Klaus Müller-Buschbaum. The thesis focused on the synthesis in confined space of luminescent YVO4 nanoparticles undoped and doped with Eu(III) ions.
